Mexico Park Department
The 70m2 apartment is located in a listed building on Av. Mexico in the Condesa neighborhood. Being a small space with no windows facing the street, we intended to create a unique interior world that had its own layers and textures that are discovered in each room. The basis of the design was inspired by the building itself, its facade and its main stairs. We wanted the main architectural elements within the place to look as if they had always been there - such as the new stained glass windows and the restoration of all the doors and windows. In the smaller spaces, such as the kitchen and bathroom, we decided to use one main color throughout the space and contrast with black and white patterns on the floor. We used the chukum finish on the walls and by designing several custom-made pieces, we delimited and framed certain spaces to create places to enjoy certain precious objects in everyday life.
